Evita van Dam is currently studying for her master degree in cello at the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg, in the class of professor Paul Uyterlinde. Earlier, she studied for her bachelor and master degree at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, in the class of professor Olsi Leka and professor Viviane Spanoghe. She started her studies with her current teacher at the conservatory of Tilburg. First in the Young Musicians Academy, while she was still in high school, later in the first few years of the bachelor program. In 2015 she had the opportunity to study a semester in Vienna, at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. She was a student in the class of professor Robert Nagy, and also followed classes with professor Maria Sellner, professor Wolfgang Aichinger and professor Reinhard Latzko.
During her studies Evita has always played in different orchestra’s, such as Frascati Symphonic, the Tilburgs Festival Orchestra, the Euregio Youth orchestra and the Webern Symphony Orchestra.
Evita has a great passion for chamber music. While growing up she won several awards as a duo with her brother, pianist Floris van Dam, at the Prinses Christina concours. Now she plays in various chamber music ensembles.
Evita plays on a cello built by Saskia Schouten (2010) and with a bow from Yannick Le Canu (2015).
